How well do you know John Richard Hicks? [quiz]

Today, 8 April, is John Hicks’ birthday. Hicks is well known for his publications such as The Theory of Wages and Value and Capital. He is considered to be one of the major figures in the history of British economics. This year marks 28 years since Hicks’ death and 45 years since he won the Nobel Prize for Economics.

    Sir John was under many respects my real supervisor (not the formal one) and Ioften remember his teaching. I also received his visits (with his wife Lady Ursula, my moral tutor) in Italy amd almost every year we used to meet in Rome until late in his life.
    It was difficult to remember the correct answer to your quiz as some of thapropose ones were wery “near”.
