Born out of the seedy underbelly of the poetry scene at the turn of the millennium – The Buffalo Poets, known for their unique energy and wit, began hosting open readings as a direct reaction to Slam Poetics and cookie cutter style poets found in New York City.Hailing originally from New York City, the Buffalo are composed of four core members: Roger Kenny aka King Otho, Aaron Arnout, Noah Levin and David Acevedo. The Buffalo have many artists throughout America including, James Honzik, Michael Franklin, Kevin Callahan and the infamous activist Rafael Bueno.

James Honzik is a prolific writer and creative film director. Having worked with James on several projects and even being allowed to sleep on the floor of his lab are honors among themselves.
I remember filming some of this at past Buffalo Readings, but it was James who directed the edits to suit his own vision.
Check out his blog for more work: http://www.jamzik.com/

I am too excited and honoured at the same time to watch this video of James Honzik.Poetry has always been a medium of expressing the inherent meaning of life for me.Nothing like it, when you can unleash your creative juices thru high strung oral deliveries. James Honzik has given not only a voice but also a life to his performance poetry. The poet comes alive with all the emotions and feelings. This is poetry personified to the extent of making it exist without any fear of annihilation. As someone from the east I got my poetic appetite nurtured thru this website.I am in the right place, I know.
