It&#039;s not only potentially scary to the men who get accused, but it makes it very difficult for actual victims to get justice.  Often they are not believed for the reasons you discuss.
I&#039;ve been in the position of having to counsel a girl who&#039;s case didn&#039;t go forward for some of the reasons you said.  I always encourage them to be totally honest about what they did so that all of their testimony is accurate. Many times they are scared to be found out about some part of it.
Staying out when they weren&#039;t supposed to, using drugs or drinking, etc.
