@Pennywhistler

Thank you for your comment. I have corrected the spelling of Jeane and thought I should address your other concerns.

Unfortunately, the YouTube clip is not the best footage of the event (Martin Kemp was working from better), which may explain some of the perceived flaws in the account. Could any of our readers recommend resources to further study the event?

You're correct that the affair was only a rumor (hence the quotation marks). Martin Kemp was referring to the perceived role of the perceived affair in her life and the contribution that made to her icon status. I apologize if that wasn't clear in the context.

Well, let's see.

She does not touch the mic.

The crowd does not hush. They are practically yowling.

Her name was Jeane, not Jean. She was not a pair of dungarees.

"The “affair” with JFK that meant more to her than the philandering and charismatic president, is crucial to her death and after-life."

Is it? Did it ever even happen? How do YOU know what it meant to her ... if it happened?

Anything else you got wrong here, Mr. Kemp? It's not to late to apologize and correct.
