I wonder how much of the teacher's decision was based on not forcing some poor 10-year-old kid to read a rape scene aloud in class? I definitely agree with the sentiment, though. The responsible thing might have been for her to read the chapter herself. Wonder if she'd been pressured any re: parental disapproval by the higher-ups...
