Friday procrastination: link love – Little Women, werewolves and banned books

by Cassie, Associate Publicist

Happy Friday, everyone! I don’t know about you, but it’s been a long and busy week for me. Luckily, it’s also been a good one. For those of you who’ve had less-than-great weeks, here are some links to help you avoid work for the rest of the day. You can read them even if you’ve had a good week, though.

RIP, William Safire. Here’s the New York Times obituary, giving us a small picture of his extraordinary life.

Did you know it’s Banned Books Week? OUP author Dennis Baron helps us celebrate.

Did you see the invisible doggies in Brooklyn?

Missed connections–now with pictures!

Is it time for a new (metal) umbrella?

I think Paul Dickson should have a conversation with OUP’s own Jesse Sheidlower. (Drunk Dictionary vs. The F-Word!)

Little Women and Werewolves. Anyone getting tired of this trend?

The book of the future is…the vook? Are you willing to give it a try?

Hopefully this will help you end your week on a laugh: the infamous twitter feed Shit My Dad Says.
