I&#039;m researching to complete an etymology and concept clarification paper in my Philosophy of Education course. 

I have chosen the word &#039;child&#039;.

I am in the beginning stage of tracking the etymology and origin.

Thus, far I have been able to track the origin back to 975 a.d. This comes solely from online sources. Do you have any information to give that would support my task here?

Specifically, I&#039;m in search of textual proof and examples of the word&#039;s use in its early form.
