I've got a Blackberry for email and an iPod Touch for everything else. The iPhone cost of $200 was much higher than the Blackberry, which I got almost for free after a $100 rebate, and the service plan for internet and email access was much less expensive as well.

My iPod touch has all the non-phone features of an iPhone, including being able to download apps. With free wireless all over the place, the lack of the problematic g3 downloading isn't much of an issue.

Lifehacker had a post that made me feel <a href="http://www.lifehacker.com.au/tips/2008/08/02/forget_the_iphonethe_ipod_touch_is_good_enough-2.html" rel="nofollow">pretty self-satisfied about my choices</a>.
