Yes, another plan to take from those of us who have worked all our lives, and give it to the obedient followers of socialism. And it will have it's foot in the door with "just 5%!" but will be increased until you will be forced to invest your entire account in whatever the ruling class tells you. (Starting with treasury bonds even China won't buy any more.)No lump sum distributions, Teresa says it's irresponsible! And if you die, you can bequeath only half to your beneficiaries. The rest goes back into their big, socialist pot, or the ruling classes pockets.
In regard to Mr. Milici's comments: It occurred to me recently that the practice of removing competition for children (keeping score) is to condition them to feel no shame. Then, when they are grown, and the nanny-state corrals them into poverty that requires they beg for help from the government, they will do so without hesitation or complaint. It will be the norm to accept "help", as everyone will have learned the new philosophy of a right to equal results. Pity is, the first the new totalitarian government will get rid of will be the non-producers. (Second will be the Teresa Ghirarduccis: anyone too close to the top, who knows too much, and may turn on the government when they realize the monster they've been helping to create!)

Yet another plan to punish productivity and achievement by stealing the fruits of one's labor that it may be used to reward sloth and indigence with guaranteed monies that are neither earned nor deserved. What Marxists never seem to learn is that guaranteed equality only guarantees that the population will be driven to the lowest common denominator. When the productive are artificially constrained to live at parity with the lazy all incentives to excel are removed.

Unfortunately for the country, our legislators are weak minded and inept. Their lack of foresight is only overshadowed by their transparent and opportunistic attempts to feign efficacy. So naturally, they can be counted on to embrace a plan that promises to magically provide everything to everyone at little or no cost.

The people who tend to the affairs of nations ought to be made of stern enough stuff to recognize the musings of naïve children when they see it.

"They look sad, Daddy. Why don't we change the game so that EVERYONE wins?"

Your plan begs for the adult supervision than only a grown up can provide. “Because Sweetie, no one would play, and then everyone loses.”

That these faulty and unrealistic notions would be taken seriously under the auspices of an ‘economic plan’ is testament that America has gone way overboard making our children don plastic suits of armor to ride their bicycles, banning dodge ball, or refusing to keep score at soccer games. Our youth are so sheltered that they never get an opportunity to grow up. Perhaps they’ll end up legislators?
