Book Quotes

I pulled The Oxford Dictionary of Humorous Quotations edited by Ned Sherrin off my co-worker’s shelf because of its bright color, and because I love collecting good quotes, but it turns out it is a lot of fun to flip through. For your enjoyment I pulled a few choice quotes about books. Check them out below.

“One man is as good as another until he has written a book.” – Benjamin Jowett 1817-1954

“Having been unpopular in high school is not just cause for book publication” – Fran Lebowitz 1946-

“Digressions, incontestably, are the sunshine; – they are the life, the soul of reading; – take them out of this book for instance, – you might as well take the book along with them.” – Lawrence Sterne 1713-68

“Book – what they make a movie out of for television.” – Leonard Louis Levinson
