What makes you think its a chemical disorder? Aspirin can cure a headache, clearly headaches are caused by a lack of aspirin in the body right? What we have is a cause and effect relationship, if depression was caused solely by the lack of Serotonin in the synapses than SSRE (Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Enahancers) wouldn't exist to treat depression would they? “talking therapy is not going to help somebody with a chemical disorder!”

What makes you think its a chemical disorder? Aspirin can cure a headache, clearly headaches are caused by a lack of aspirin in the body right?

I say this as someone who suffers from the previous three diseases, who has tried both antidepressants and talk therapy alone. It was only when I started using both together that I felt I was truly becoming "well". On the contrary, I suspect that in many cases, people with clinical depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, etc, can best be helped by an antidepressant in conjunction with talk therapy. I say this as someone who suffers from the previous three diseases, who has tried both antidepressants and talk therapy alone. It was only when I started using both together that I felt I was truly becoming “well”.
