I have to disagree that McCain is a conservative. His signature legislation of the past few years has been the Kennedy-McCain immigration bill, which attempted to grant amnesty to twenty million illegal immigrants. His McCain-Feingold bill is arguably unconstitutional. His support for our undeclared war in Iraq (we haven't declared a war since World War II, btw), coupled with his desire to stay in-country for one hundred years highlights his distance from anything conservative. McCain's actions and speeches imply that either he has never read the U.S. Constitution or that he grossly misinterprets it, much like the words of Hillary and Obama. Only one man has an accurate understanding of our founding ideals: Ron Paul.

I must correct my response to Jeffrey's comment on 2/24/08 when I referred to the Goldwater endorsement as coming from a nephew of Goldwater. It in fact was from Barry Goldwater Jr., however my point is that a Goldwater relative has not been known to be the standard bearer of the legacy of the man that revived American conservatism.

In response to Jeffrey's comment 2/2/08, it is true that a Goldwater has endorsed Ron Paul, but it is not the same Goldwater that was the reviver of true American conservatism and who preceded and was mentor to Ronald Reagan. The Goldwater endorsement for Ron Paul is from Barry Goldwater's nephew, who has not been known as the standard bearer for the legacy of his late uncle.

If McCain is the "True" conservative, then why does Ron Paul hold the Goldwater endorsement?
