Noooooo!! Sorry, but I can’t abide Mark Twain. I’m sure this puts me beyond the pale but, really … And, anyway, hasn’t everybody read this already!?

  2. Rebecca

Yesss!!!! I think this is a great pick for the summer! I can’t wait to down a tall cool glass of sasparilla and float on my inner tube down the Mississippi, reading this one!
    Cheers!

Pay particular attention to the end of Ch. 15, and to Huck’s epiphany in Ch. 31.

And re Mark Thwaite’s question: Even if everyone HAS read it already, it’s a good idea to read it again. And again. It is the greatest book ever written in English.

My son has been assigned Huck Finn for summer reading…he starts Grade 9 in September. He is about 1/3 of the way through and so far he can’t stand it! I read it when I was much younger and can’t figure out why he can’t get into it!!!Any ideas?
