		<description>The political backlash that resulted from the Supreme Court&#039;s ruling in Brown v. Board of Education may have had the immmediate effect of strengthening white resistance to desegregation. However, today, one could say that we&#039;ve witnessed a sort of &quot;counterbacklash&quot; to the counterbacklash of Brown, what with the present state of our public schools, which are just as segregated--if not more--as they were when the decision was made. I wonder if Justice Warren is turning in his grave right now? If so, he can thank current immigration patterns as well as disparate urban housing policies that have plagued America&#039;s diverse cities--policies that essentially have created a trend towards resegregation. How&#039;s that for some [backward] backlash...</description>
