		<description>Great interview, really enjoyed it. Jenkins has been very influential for me as a Western missionary in the Middle East. I remember well listening to him speak at my alma mater back in the West when he came to give s guest lecture.

That having been said, I think he seriously underestimates the power of Islam qua civilizational ideology to subsume other forms of identity: national, cultural, political, and so on.

In Islam, the unity of God subsumes and eradicates, or at least re-orients, all other forms of identity, leaving only the bare sunnah: the unquestioning sunnah (imitation) of the prophet of Islam, Muhammad.

		<description>A very insightful interview.  Mr. Jenkins are some of the few non-Catholic writers that I actually enjoy reading.  I&#039;m already reading his most current book and it is fascinating to say the least.
