		<description>&lt;i&gt;Altus&lt;/i&gt; does not combine two contradictory meanings: its unitary meaning is &#039;large in the vertical dimension&#039;, which in English we call &lt;i&gt;high&lt;/i&gt; if we are conceptually at the bottom, as in &lt;i&gt;high mountain&lt;/i&gt;, or &lt;i&gt;deep&lt;/i&gt; if we are conceptually at the top, as in &lt;i&gt;deep valley&lt;/i&gt;.</description>
