I would personally broaden the definition of art to include all activities that result in a concious changes made in reality. As a noun, I'd say any sensory event that mind would characterize as art. Art need not be created by mind, but it must be experienced by it. You’re right about that. Are they one and the same? I feel that art is technology and technology is art. Even using prefabricated technologies creates art.
