Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Today I am proud to present the new and improved OUPBlog! This redesign project has become my obsession and I am thrilled that launch day has finally arrived. (Yes, I was up at 9 a.m. GMT, which is 4 a.m. in NYC. No, I am not insane.)

Many people helped this site become a reality and I want to take a moment to thank them for their efforts.

  • Michael Pollock, Head Designer – Thank you for going above and beyond on this project and for spending countless hours answering my questions.
  • Brent Verner and Ben Freund, OUP Online Development – Thank you for solving all my unsolvable problems.
  • Brice Hammack and Jessica Rini, OUP Creative Services – Thanks for making the OUPblog beautiful.
  • Purdy and Sarah Russo, OUP Publicity – Thanks for looking at countless iterations of this project and giving me your honest feedback. Oh, and thanks for listening to me (and pretending to be interested) while I talked about widgets, color schemes, and column widths.

Most of all, thank you to all the wonderful OUP staffers, authors, and commenters who contribute to the blog by sending me your suggestions, your thoughts, or writing articles. My picture may be in the corner but this is a group effort and I appreciate all of your help.

This blog exists not to be an advertisement but to stimulate intellectual conversation and debate. I hope that the new design will help readers find articles they are interested in more easily, but more importantly, I hope it will stimulate more conversation. I want to know what you are thinking, even if you think I am dead wrong!

Be sure to come back this afternoon for the first in a series of articles which will allow you to see “Inside Oxford.”

Have a great weekend!

Rebecca
