All of you people here have probably seen the movie. You either bought it, paid to see it in the theater, or paid to rent it. Either way, by being controversial, it drew attention and made sales. It's just business, people. Whether you like it or not, that's what it comes down to. None one give's a rat's a$$ if you like it or you don't. "The DaVinci Code" is taken way to seriously. This is an author who has succeeded on playing off of the fact that people have a natural curiousity towards Mysticism and religion. The author has also succeeded in using the "shock" factor right where it would have the most effect. And lets face it, even if your not religious, this book still effects the non believers in many ways I won't get into here. This DaVinci Code thing boils down to one thing and one thing only. MONEY! The author did exactly what he set out to do. Write a book that would sell as many copies as possible. And for that, I give him a lot of credit. Because that is true genious not only inteluctually, but to be that in tune with what is going on in the world at this time is pure genious. I found the book and film very entertaining and took it as that, but it did ruffle the feathers of the church somewhat so an element of the book no matter how small must be scraping the truth. It has to be mentioned that the church is very powerful and indeed the Bible could have been written to suit their needs, who knows,(unless you get that Time Machine Darrell) but one things for sure, there are those who believe and those who dont so leave it at that, Barts list dosent convince me.
