Everyone has a precedent for Thanksgiving. Nobody has missed anything. We are the "melting pot" of the world. There are many traditions that align with Thanksgiving - going back for centuries.

Interesting (and mouth-watering) article.

I'm surprised that the author missed the actual inspiration of Thanksgiving: the ancient Jewish festival of Succoth. This holiday, which is also called the Festival of Booths, celebrated the fall harvest; the pilgrims were certainly aware of this biblical precedent, and adapted it for their own feast.

Have a great holiday weekend!
